This evening, I’m changing my sensor that I have been using for 10 days. I’m really happy that this sensor had lasted for the entire time with one Sensor Error alert going off on Sunday evening after dinner.
I was woken up by the alarm on the receiver early today and a few days ago, as well. Both alarms were accurate and I needed a snack before going back to sleep.
At lunch today, the Urgent Low alarm went off, but it was inaccurate at the time. I had done a test and it was 153 mg/dl. Unfortunately, I couldn’t calibrate because the arrow was straight down. When this happens, you aren’t able to calibrate. You can calibrate when the arrow is angling down or angling up. You can also calibrate when the arrow goes sideways.
We’ll see what happens with the new sensor I just inserted tonight. I’m waiting for the 2 hour warm up to be done by 9:45 pm.
Stay tuned for more information coming soon.

Yes, very happy about the sensor doing the right thing for the 10 days.😀👍👍
Have you ever thought about trying the FreeStyle Libre 2 or 14 day version? I use the 14 day version (even though they both last 14 days) because the 14 day version has a phone app for Android to read your glucose numbers. However, they just approved the FSL 3 in the USA and that one will have all the features that Dexcom users love PLUS will only be the size of two stacked pennies and at the same price of the current FSL 2 & 14 day versions. But I understand some insurance companies won't cover both units..plus many Dexcom users like being able to reuse their units with hacks I have seen on YouTube. I personally can't wait to get my hands on the FSL 3 for the added conveniences. 🙂
I've thought of switching, but can't do that, yet. If I do get the chance to switch, I'll let everyone know. It may be a while until that happens, though.
As for reusing the same sensor more than it's supposed to be used, they can't be restarted since the G6 has been changed from what the other versions had been since it's not safe to reuse the same sensor.
It's a shame these sensors are so expensive that users had to resort to restarting hacks for the versions that allowed it. Even with my good insurance my copay is outrageous for it. I'm looking forward to moving to Europe where it should be free once prescribed.
