Misbehaving Sensor: DEXCOM

For the last few days, my sensor from last Tuesday evening has been acting up and causing lots of stress (not needed). The results for the numbers kept going in and out, up and down for no good reason, and finally, it went up beyond 400 on the system, but I was in the 200's during lunch today.

I got woken up this morning at 5 am because the numbers had dropped below 80 on the receiver and I was 91 mg/dl on my test. I had a mini snack and then went back to bed for a little longer and then got up around 6:30 am for my normal breakfast. Odd part is, I didn't hear the alarm going off to say that I was dropping. My parents had to wake me up and say that the alarm went off. Not good!

I have put a new sensor in this afternoon and now waiting for the warm up period to go for the next 2 hours. Will see how this one goes. Will let you know more when I can. Stay tuned!

Stay safe!:-)

Hi Leah, I’m so sorry as this sounds very stressful especially as you had to be woken I find being woken from a deep sleep takes time to readjust and think I’d find it hard to go back to sleep for an hour if that was me so I feel for you.

Good luck with this sensor I wish they were more reliable so do let us know how this one goes.

You take care and stay safe now. 😊

Thank you, Hidden . It was stressful, but I didn’t go under 55 on the receiver, so that’s a plus.😀👍

That’s good and that’s the spirit so good for you 👍😀

On the G4 system, 55 is the fixed low.

Hi Leah,

Oh dear! That doesn't sound good. Do you think you had a dodgy sensor? Let's hope this new sensor works better.

Take care.

TT x.
