Left or Right

I have type 2 diabetes and recently have been checking my glucose levels. I get different readings if I check from my left hand finger then immediately from my right hand!

This morning left was 9.4 and right was 8.1. Is this usual?

I have found the different fingers on the same hand give different readings.

Hi and welcome to the group, Clericus . :-) Please feel free to continue posting and commenting, take a look at the Topics/Events/Polls/Pinned Posts sections for ideas and suggestions, ask more questions and of course, meet the rest of the members of the group.

Before testing your blood sugars, are your hands cold? If your hands are cool/cold, the temps. can have an effect on how much blood you can get to be used for the blood test's sample at home.

Plus anything on your hands can affect a reading so washing first is a good idea.
