On my left hand, my pointer finger might be infected! I'm not sure how that happened, but I will see about making an appointment with my GP hopefully this week. Will let you know what happens soon.

Have a good night. More later!

Is it something you do with your knitting seems like the finger next to it has a sore not infected maybe healed. Could this be from repeat injury? Hope you feel better

Sorry it continues to bother you. I knock myself self often on items and bleed have not found and infections.

Had a great endo appt. he want me to start on the pump he tried when I went on the DEXCOM but see more need now with insulin sensitivity. Would give more control and zero injections just insert pump last 3-4 days. We will review and take a call from rep. this one does not have a hose just one unit and box ezternal like all others, this one is slmmer. Have you looked at them?

Hi, yes it certainly looks like that from the way it's weeping thru the plaster and your other finger looks like it has a small infection too. If you have diabetes (and especially if u also have neuropathy or peripheral artery disease) then this is an emergency and u should get an appt today. If u can't then u should go to the out of hours GP, telling them ur diabetic etc. They should give u a flucloxicillin antibiotic immediately and also an iodine dressing to get rid of this infection before it leads anything else. It can easily turn very nasty if u have diabetes, especially if u have neuropathy and/or peripheral artery disease too. Please don't delay - ring your GP now. All the best

Dharma Girl Activity is very dedicated to her illness and has had it for a very long time and doctors she has been with for long term. I'm sure she will appreciate your concern. It also sounds like you are trained in the medical field. You gave good advice to many that may not be familiar these issue.

Hi, really glad u were able to see your doctor quickly & wish u all the best with your finger probs. No I'm not trained medically except for nurse training back in the 1980's. But have brittle Type 1 diabetes plus various complications including neuropathy & peripheral artery disease, and am pretty well-versed now in the do's & dont's of foot & hand care re wounds/infections. Even if ur not quite in my state tho it's sensible to get used to a higher level of foot & hand care if u have any form of diabetes, cos we're none of us very good at healing or fighting infection and we often need the extra help of antibiotics & proper dressings. Also we need regular foot checks by a doctor/nurse/podiatrist, we need to check our feet ourselves everyday, moisturise regularly and wear sensible footwear that doesn't rub or cut off circulation - more details on any good diabetes website. Also noticed recently that ur having an insulin pump soon - a big investment time-wise but well worth the effort and easy once u get used to it. If u can deal with a CGM u shouldn't have too many problems adapting to a pump. Very pleased for u anyway and wish u much improved blood sugar levels and peace of mind. Take care & all the best

Thank you, but I haven't started looking into the pump, yet. I'm using the DEXCOM SYSTEM.

As a post liver transplant ( 11 weeks ago ) on anti rejection medication and diabetic I accidentally stabbed the end of my finger, almost immediately it was inflamed and throbbing. I went to an NHS walk-in centre and without any question was given Fucidin ointment, applied it as prescribed and it almost immediately subsided and did not go any further. Unfortunately its a prescription only medication, but next clinic I'm going to ask for a couple of tubes for any such situations. Might be an idea for anybody immunocompromised or diabetic.

Thank you! I was put on some antibiotics and just started taking them after dinner tonight. I was also told to keep soaking the finger in salt warm water.
