Hi everyone - Ive just joined this forum and mostly post on the British Lung Foundation Forum as I have advanced lung disease.
Ive recently been getting nausea with no diarrhoea or vomiting and it's hard to link directly it to anything in particular. It comes on very suddenly. Im concerned that this could be related to pre-diabetes, possibly as a side effect of all the steroids Ive taken during my adult life (now 73). During a hospitalisation for a lung flare-up last June I had some random finger prick tests after eating (by random I mean they selected a few patients to check each day). Out of 4 tests, all were ok except one which was apparently much too high.
I'm not overweight, eat a good diet with lots of salad, green veg, protein and fats (not trans or processed). Not a huge amount of carbs and they are mostly complex carbs - small amount of organic jumbo oats for breakfast, slice of rye whole meal bread with lunch, a banana most days plus root veg but also cake approx twice a week.
If this latest doesn't clear up soon I will go to my GP but I wondered if anyone here has a view on whether nausea might be an indication of pre-diabetes. I dont have any of the main symptoms listed on the Diabetes UK site. I may be being over-anxious but can't work out what is causing this symptom.
Thanks for any replies
