Weekly Update: DEXCOM

Sorry this is late, but I had been really busy this week. This was the first time I was able to sit down and start typing this.

The sensor so far this week has been working fairly well (knock on wood). I'm hoping that it'll last for the rest of this weekend and part of Monday for when it's time for it to be changed. That would be a really nice surprise.

I was woken up earlier than normal a few days ago because the numbers were dropping. This is becoming a not-so-fun habit. :-( At some point, I will end up waking up at all weird times of the morning even when the alarm doesn't go off because I may hear it go off even when it didn't from force of habit. I'm hoping this doesn't happen!

The numbers today and for the last few days have been a little lower than normal after breakfast. I had an early snack today at 9:30 am. It's good that it's the weekend.

It is always nerve racking when our technology fails us, but in this case, you were receiving low readings and the alarm becomes your warning. There is nothing worse than losing sleep needlessly, but nothing more rewarding to be able to wake up alive and well. Hang in there and hoping you have a better week ahead of you next week. In this case, saved by the bell. Sometimes we have a shift in our body performance which means the readings we expect are not always what happens. Best wishes to you for the coming week.

Maybe a slight reduction of insulin between 3am and 7am assuming that you use a pump.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I’m not using a pump. I’m considered to be a brittle diabetic.
