Metformin

I am out of metformin, my doctor won't give drug store authorization to refill it. Nor a 4 month apointment i figure he should not leave me with no out this med. Now i am scared of what's going to happen to me.

Welcome to the group. Please feel free to continue posting and commenting, taking the polls on the Polls section, asking questions, reading and commenting on the other members’ postings and comments, attend the monthly meetings for the group and of course, meet the other members of the group.

Is there a way you can get in touch with your doctor and schedule an appointment to discuss why you need the Metformin? Did they say that you’re under tight control with your blood sugars and that’s why you can’t get the refill at the Pharmacy? If they won’t see you, please start looking for a new doctor. From personal experience, I have had to get and change doctors until I got the best one for me. I will have to get a new doctor in a few years since the one I have is going to retire from the practice where I have to go 3-4 months.

Rebba......I would say look for another doctor immediately, to get a new supply of Metformin to keep your medication up to date without a break...... I take Metformin but live in the UK and have no problem getting a repeat prescription.

I don't really understand why your doctor does that to you. Go back and speak to the manager of the reception about this. I did once when they refused to refill my medication because of the system errors.
