I'm Type 1 started Type 2 yes they can change. How old if you do mind me asking are you? Have you just found out? Have you been given you a guide on diet? Basically low-cal very 1--20 carb's per day lot's of protein, fresh veggie's, eliminate bread beans, rice and pasta almost. Cheese and eggs are not bad as long as cheese and milk products are skim or 2%. What medication if any have they given? You will still have a wonderful life a little more restricted a glass of wine with steak fresh veggie's on the side pass on the rolls and potato's.
Parties can still be fun eat before you go to be full, snack at fresh veggie's. one is allowed a dessert once and a while. Check your blood sugars record them watch your triggers. They are different for everyone. Try and be positive depression can be part of the experience if that continues speak to your doctor he may give you something to help. Do not feel bad about that it can be part of the picture at this time and they do not want you finding this more difficult.
Get out and get fresh air it clears the mind. I love my my walks when my diabetes seems overwhelming. Then I come to a place of peace and more relaxation.
If you need you reach me please do I would love to follow up with you.
