If you have breakfast around 10.30 am ,you must be having lunch at around 2.00 p.m.Getting hypo at around 2.30 p.m.is inexplicable.

What do you eat for lunch?

Better have a light snack or fruit after 90 or 120 minutes after breakfast.Ensure that the snack is of low glycemic value.

Glycomet GP 2 Forte SR tablet contains glimepiride 2 mg and metformin 1000 mg.

"Glimepiride is used along with diet and exercise, and sometimes with other medications, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin (a natural substance that is needed to break down sugar in the body) and helping the body use insulin efficiently. This medication will only help lower blood sugar in people whose bodies produce insulin naturally."(1)

"Metformin is used alone or with other medications, including insulin, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood."(3)

"Linagliptin is used along with diet and exercise and sometimes with other medications to lower blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes (condition in which blood sugar is too high because the body does not produce or use insulin normally). Linagliptin is in a class of medications called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. It works by increasing the amounts of certain natural substances that lower blood sugar when it is high."(5)

You can reduce the dosage of medicines if you follow strict control of daibetic diet and daily exercise.
