How to reduce hba1c?
What does your doctor say?
I am not a doctor but would like to say that you need to go for strict low carb diet with proper medication and regular exercises. It has worked for me in reducing FBS/PPBS in short period of two weeks. Also for urine culture test would reveal exact nature. It could be bacterial infection because of high blood sugars which should be treated immediately. Consult endocrinologist and urologist for proper medication and care.

What have your blood sugars been for the last week/month? If you have constant high blood sugars, you can possibly get a yeast infection. Please consult your doctor this week and get an appointment.
Cut out all chillies and pepper in your food. Cut our all hidden and free sugar in food and drinks.
Consult your doctor on medication or life style change.

Over time, people who have diabetes and high blood sugar can develop serious or life-threatening complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney problems, nerve damage, and eye problems. Taking medication(s), making lifestyle changes (e.g., diet, exercise, quitting smoking), and regularly checking your blood sugar may help to manage your diabetes and improve your health. This therapy may also decrease your chances of having a heart attack, stroke, or other diabetes-related complications such as kidney failure, nerve damage (numb, cold legs or feet; decreased sexual ability in men and women), eye problems, including changes or loss of vision, or gum disease. Your doctor and other healthcare providers will talk to you about the best way to manage your diabetes.

Hi,
The information that you have given is so little that it is difficult to advise.
Nevertheless, your HbA1C needs to be brought down to below 7.0. How to bring it down is already addressed by the members of this forum.
I would like to add the following additional information. Your HbA1C corresponds to random blood sugar of 260. In this one needs to know the contribution of fasting blood glucose and post- prondial blood sugar. Post- prondial blood sugar can be controlled by modifications in the diet with the specific aim to reduce carbs in the diet. Also exercise and modifications to medication may be necessary.
But in your case the high HbA1C probably implies that it is the fasting blood glucose which is the main contributor. Tackling high values of fasting blood sugar is more complex than tweaking the diet, and exercise. You are probably aware that Dawn phenomenon, Somogyi effect are responsible for high fasting blood sugar. In order to reduce fasting blood sugar, one has to decide which of these is causing fasting hyper glycemia. There is a way to find out and accordingly design the treatment. You can consult your doctor after looking at your fasting blood sugar and see if it is increasing during the last two years.
Regarding the burning sensation while passing urine, as the members have suggested it could be due to a simple bacterial infection which can be treated with antibiotics. However, if you are above 60 years of age, it could be due to another reason. Among elderly people ( men) , prostate enlargement, known as BPH, is common among 95% of the old men. When prostate enlarges, it can pinch urethra , thus causing decreased flow rate and burning sensation in urine if there is residual urine. This can be diagnosed by doing ultrasonography of kidney and urinary bladder(KUB). It is also advisable to test PSA which can be done by using a blood sample. With this, you can visit an urologist who will diagnose the problem. You can find relief from the burning sensation with proper treatment.
Hope this helps.
Dear Ussuman
