I am diabetic and taking Glyciphage 500 mg twice daily. I have never noticed my blood sugar (Primarily fasting) go beyond 125, normally below 110. But when I checked my HbA1c, it is surprisingly 7.25! How does it happen?

HbA1c
u r diabetic. Pl consult doctor.
Take care as it gives more problems as you pull on. Control your diet and increase physical activities.
I hope you are consulting a doctor.7.25 is not acceptable.Doctor's advice+better diet control+regular exercise like walking for at least 40 min.should help you.Leading an active life is a good option.
Dear koshyk1,
Yes, your Hb1Ac is high, but not at panic level. Consult your doctor ASAP. With respect to your query as to why Hb1Ac is high despite FBS being okay, most probably your PPBS (2 hours after first meal/BF) or day-time sugar is well above normal limits.
You have not shared since when you are taking Glyciphage 500 mg twice daily. If you are not disciplined in your diet, physical activity and periodical checking of both PrPBS and PostParBS and correct the course of medicine in terms dosage, supplements etc. you are bound to develop severe complications.
HbA1c gives the average blood sugar for last 3 months. It does have any relation with fasting blood sugar. Also, keep in mind FB sugar is tested at least 10 hours after the food in take.
you said your blood sugar level is normal.Did you checked the B/S level at random ie. at different times. In my openion you manage your intake so that your B/S level shows as you desire. But your intake is as much as you like afterwards. .This may be the case with you
Thanks to all.
Dear friend
fasting 125 is not the limit.after food we should have about 200 for hba1c more than 7. there is some thing wrong with ur checking.pl see that with gluco meter u can take 3 to 4 days sugar at diff time in a day and u will see the acutal fact.
