What is your highest fasting and after meal bs? (Before/without medication, diet etc)
Highest bs: What is your highest fasting and... - Diabetes India
Highest bs
Fasting BS level and after breakfast BS levels are generally accepted as 70 to 110 and 110 to 140 respectively. We should aim to achieve the lower levels of the reference ranges.
My question is not about what number we should aim, but what is the highest any of you ever had?
I had once hit 320.But have have heard of somebody hitting 600 plus. But these numbers also come down significantly rather quickly.
PP or FBS?
PP
My PP was 546 when i was diagnosed in Oct 2017, but that was 2 hours after i finished my meal, not after starting it, i had my meal then sipped my coffee bit by bit while reading newspapers for about half an hour, and i waited for 2 hr after my last sip, so I conclude my PP could be higher than that, because bs reaches its peak 1 hour after meal, not 2 hr post meal

546 is way too high. You do not hit that high number unless everything that can go wrong has gone wrong. What did you do about it?Please share your experiences for the benefit of all.
By the way, those charts are really useful and I am thinking of using them.
Yes, i think there had been some damage to my pancreatic beta cells, not just insulin resistance, what concerned me more was my FBS (297), 2 weeks of metformin 3 x 500mg did not do any good for me, but 16 units of basal insulin and 2 mg of glimepiride brought my FBS and PP within acceptable range 113-127 in five days
In Uk, moren cars have tyre pressure warning, The garage do not understand this in winter!
Last year I called Toyota garage to ask questions on the tyre pressure alarm, no one could answer it apart from book the car in we can check.
This is a cold time alarm, no one understand it, after four weeks when the appointment comes in temperature would have changed an no problem to report.
We all need ot understand the basic and fundamentals of blood glucose monitoring!
You need to have a fixed time to check your blood glucose, simple as that. If you time is passed just miss it and go for the next time slot!
There are many changes when we go for one and two or three, it all depends on what we had to drink or eat. The next day may be different. Asparagus and beetroot can change a lot in out activities.!!!
When I had viral fever and Chest congested with phlegm, I had fasting BS level 356. As Iam allergic to antibiotic, I could not go to allopathy for fever and cold. I resorted to Ayurvedic medicines like Himalaya's Septilin (relieves from congestion as well as controls blood sugar), it took 20 days for me to bring down BS to 150. I understand that all Ayurvedic medicines for cold are associated with Diabetes also. In this confusion, my doctor changed my diabetic medicine Tryglynase to Glucobay to reduce BS, instead it shot up my sugar level to 450. I went crazy..On seeing the Big number 450 on glucometer , I felt my legs were getting numb, fear was overtaking me rather than Diabetes.
I threw all these English medicines..My body does not listen to it.
