Dietary carb intake is one of the most important considerations in diets for diabetes. The amount of carb that one should eat may vary from person to person. Make your home glucose meter your most trusted guide in deciding the total amount of carb and carb in each meal that you should include. Choose an amount that you can follow on regular basis and not for short term. Remember, what is important is the net carb. Dietary fibre though carb does not impact our blood sugar and therefore they should be subtracted from the total carb.

I am now eating little millets only in place of rice and wheat. These millets contain about 8 % of fiber as against less than 1% in wheat and rice.My choice is right,I think.
Millets may be a better choice for you. However, I always trust my meter to confirm if it is the right choice.
I use almond flour and flaxseed (ground) in place of wheat and rice as per my meter.
Ground almond has 4 gm net carb and 8 gm fibre per 100 gm.
Flaxseed has 2 gm net carb and 27 gm fibre per 100 gm.
Flaxseed being so high in fibre should be taken in small quantity to start with and can be gradually increased as per individual's tolerance level. I can tolerate up to 100 gm in a day. Though, I do not consume it every day.
