Undergo HbA1c test.

Fasting blood sugar should be less than 100 mg/dL.

Postprandial blood sugar should be less than 140 mg/dL.

Check your blood sugar (FBS or PPBS) daily and try to avoid foods that cause hyperglycemia.

RECLIDE 80MG TABLET(DR REDDYS) with a composition (formula) of Gliclazide 80 MG

Gliclazide (generic name) Reclide (brand name) is an anti-diabetic medication used to treat diabetes mellitus type 2.

Pioglit MF 15 tablet contains fixed composition of Pioglitazone (15mg), Metformin (500mg)

Pioglitazone is used with a diet and exercise program and sometimes with other medications, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and therefore cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Pioglitazone is in a class of medications called thiazolidinediones. It works by increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin, a natural substance that helps control blood sugar levels.

Pioglitazone is contraindicated in liver diseases and heart failure.

On June 15, 2011 the U.S. FDA announced that pioglitazone use for more than one year may be associated with an increased risk of bladder cancer, and two months later the label was updated with an additional warning about this risk.

Metformin is used alone or with other medications, including insulin, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood.

Adopt insulin therapy and avoid side effects of anti-diabetic medications.

When we say LCHF ...does it mean processed carbs or all carbs including legumes, vegetables, fruits etc.

No processed carbs. All other carbs to be restricted around 100 gms per day.
