You have got postprandial hyperglycemia. An exaggerated rise in blood sugar following a meal. ... It increases its output as blood glucose rises following meals. In people with Type 2 diabetes, the pancreas can be sluggish about secreting insulin in response to a meal. This leads to postprandial hyperglycemia.

Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor used for lowering post-prandial blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus. Voglibose delays the absorption of glucose thereby reducing the risk of macrovascular complications.

If your blood glucose level is above 130mg/dL, that's fasting hyperglycemia. Fasting hyperglycemia is a common diabetes complication. Postprandial or reactive hyperglycemia occurs after eating (postprandial means "after eating").

But Govt of India has banned drugs with fixed combinations of Metformin + gliclazide + Voglibose.

Fasting blood sugar should not exceed 100 mg/dL.

Postprandial blood sugar (2 hours after taking food) should not exceed 140 mg/dL.

Reduce carbohydrate in your diet.

Avoid consuming food after 8:00 pm.

Walk for 15 minutes after every meal.

Check your blood sugar (FBS or PPBS) daily and avoid or reduce the foods that cause high blood sugar.

See post by me. Though Metformin to date is the most efficient oral prescription, at most it can reduce blood glucose by average 31 points (hbA1c: 1.1%). I think we should follow what endocrinologists in advanced seminars fancy: Insulin!

Normalising Insulin resistance is the key to exit the vicious circle of Diabetes.

it highly depends what do you eat in your meal, have 50% of your meal with green leafy salad, vegetables..you salad must have 2 raw tomatoes & 2 raw onions ( to get Chromium & Vanadium) { Chromium & Vanadium helps to rejuvenate beta cells of pancreas} &..and walk 15-20 mins ( this walk is just simple walk) after every meal. Do this for 7 days. For more open discussion - contact me by leaving a comment to this posting. Thank you.

But this gentleman has sugar spike even after eating sprouts etc for breakfast!! Pl consider and address that! Do you have a stressful life?? When diet modification (already eating low carb) is done, look elsewhere.. but whats your lunch n dinner??

Dear Mr.Manorajya, I share my experience. My fasting sugar level used to be around 190 and PP used to be 260 or so.I came across a post of Dr.Biswaroop Roy Choudhury "blood sugar live experiment to cure diabetics" in you tube.

I started eating only fruits and vegetables for b/fast and lunch and normal dinner.

Sugar level is under control now and medicine reduced.

You may try it after watching the video completely.
