Your sugar levels are acceptable.What are your apprehensions?Do you have a family history of diabetes?If you want to confirm your condition conclusively,HbA1c test is the best recourse.

Both fasting and PP nos. are not normal. If these levels are consistent then you are diabetic.

Unlike you, I consider most Indian doctors to be either unethical or incompetent.

One has to be extremely careful and selective in choosing ones doctor.

Home monitoring of blood for high levels of sugar is the best thing to do, I agree.

Your body mass index is 29.8 and you are overweight.

Simple lifestyle measures have been shown to be effective in preventing or delaying the onset of type 2 diabetes. To help prevent type 2 diabetes and its complications, people should:

* achieve and maintain healthy body weight;

* be physically active – at least 30 minutes of regular, moderate-intensity activity on most days. More activity is required for weight control;

* eat a healthy diet, avoiding sugar and saturated fats intake; and

* avoid tobacco use – smoking increases the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

A weight-control strategy might include

* Choosing low-fat, low-calorie foods

* Eating smaller portions

* Drinking water instead of sugary drinks

* Being physically active
