Gestational diabetes is very likely to disappear after childbirth. So,hope for the best.Your sugar numbers are not very alarming. You should try to come back to your normal or even less weight soon after child birth.Go for regular walks.

Hello Kavya,

I had gestational diabetes with my youngest child and I have become T2 diabetic five years later. I am sorry to mention that a child born from a mother who experienced with gestational diabetes is more likely to have diabetes or being obese in later life. This is not nice to know, isn't it?

Well, at the moment you need to focus on your own issues to control your blood sugar in order to avoid several health complications. You should be familiar with what lifestyle required for a diabetic in terms of proper diet and being active. Learn more about diabetes and set your plan with achievable goals to take control of your BSL. Consult a doctor if you think you require some help with some medication; otherwise, it is advisable to give it a go with a healthy and sustainable lifestyles. All the best :)

Eating too much or not being physically active enough will make you overweight. To maintain your weight, the calories you eat must equal the energy you burn. To lose weight, you must use more calories than you eat. A weight-control strategy might include

Choosing low-fat, low-calorie foods

Eating smaller portions

Drinking water instead of sugary drinks

Being physically active

Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor used for lowering post-prandial blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus. In your case, medicine is not required since the blood sugar is less than 200 mg/dL.

Walk for 15 minutes after taking your meals.
