Chromium and hypertension

I am 2 type in remission . I have good results Just with diet and exercice. I decided 3 week ago to take chromium as supplement juste to reduce the insulin résistance. But I found that it caused me hypertension. I stoped it and all is ok. Is it normal?

Serum chromium level normally is less than or equal to 1.4 micrograms/milliliter (µg/mL) or 26924.80 nanomoles/L (nmol/L).

You may take chromium supplement only if there is a deficiency in your body.

Chromium may have some benefits for diabetes but high dose can damage your kidney and liver as well as causing blood disorder. I think before taking any supplements you should discuss with your doctor and only if you have some deficiency.
