Hi Dave2017,
Welcome to this forum. Are you Type 1 or Type 2? How have you controlled your diabetic conditions in the past 15 years? Do you have any idea what went wrong that cause your FBS to go high in the past week?
Hi. Luckysugar. Me type 2 and controlled by diet and natural stuff but recently start taking allopathy and it came under normal by and read about madhunashashani and took for a month and it started going up and when it reached 200 plus stopped and this morning it was 140 so we hope it stays like this thanks for asking please go ahead and make ur suggestions
I could learn a lot from you through your long experiences using different treatments to controlling blood sugar in particular the current herb you are using (gymnema or insulin plant) in terms of its effectiveness. It has been claimed as a potent antidiabetic plant but I don't know if it is safe for a long-term use.
I am T2 for 7 years and have controlled BSL only with diet and exercise. I don't take any supplement or herbs. I am currently on lchf and also grain- free for past seven months. I replace bread or rice with my own flat bread made of almond/chickpea/coconut flour, psyllium husks, salt and water. I also eat lentils and chickpeas in small quantity with lots of green leafy. Good fats are essential including extra virgin olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil, home made ghee, butter, cream, cheese, whole eggs and low carbs nuts eg. Walnuts, Brazil nuts and almonds.
Hi Luckysugar. What is the LCHF diet How do u make ur flat bread dough. Do u just make lik e Roti can u please send me the list of lchf diet. We do use psyllium husk before our main meals cos this forms gel in the stomach and this delays the conversion of sugar from the meal and also helps in cleaning We also soak one spoon of Chia seeds in coconut milk and leave it in the fridge and add the fruits u like and eat like ur breakfast and than don't eat anything for 4 hours make a rule of 4-4-12. This will keep ur sugars in good shape thanks talk to u later

LCHF is low carbs high fat diet which I've learned from this forum. There is a LCHF forum on HU from which you can read through their old posts. Anup is one of our members here who has been on this diet to control his diabetes for many years as well as some other members including suramo who actually introduced to me this diet since I joined this forum. It's worth to read through their old posts as you could learn different things and ideas. However, you may do well with your current diet for your health and diabetes conditions which is all up to you.
As per your recent questions;
1. My homemade flat bread (I call it 'lucky flat bread') made of 1 Cup of almond flour, 1 cup of coconut flour, 1/2 cup psyllium husks, 1- 2 Tb dry chia seeds, 1/2 tsp salt (or less), pinch of black pepper and lot of plain water (approx 2 - 3 cups or more; coconut flour will absorb water very quickly) Stir all ingredients well and let them set for minimum an hour before rolling it into flat disks around 4 -5 inches diameter. Cook it as how you cook roti but do not use too much oil on the pan just brush the pan with melted oil/butter/or ghee. I recently cook them on my sandwich maker which is much easier and quicker.
You can modify your own flat bread in terms of ingredients and measurements. For example, using chickpea flour, omit chia seeds, or add your favorite spices or chili.......
2. Sorry I don't have a list of LCHF diet but you should be able to get it from the Internet.
I used to consume psyllium as you mentioned but not very regularly as I don't like its taste and texture. I prefer add them into my cooking.
I tried 'chia pudding' a few weeks ago and I like it.....yummm
Rule of 4-4-12 sounds interesting which I have never heard before.
What diet you are current on as a diabetic? (if you don't mind sharing)
