I have 2 eggs and Greek yogurt every morning for breakfast. Great for the protein and less hunger for a few hours.

What is greek yogurt?

Activity2004 profile image

Greek yogurt is where the yogurt is a little thicker than the Light ‘N’ Fit brand type of yogurt. Greek yogurt is a little healthier and holds a person longer because it has more protein.

can you not manage your breakfast without egg?

we don't need that much protein in egg white and egg yellow is definitely bad for a diabetic

meat is not necessary for any of us,with vegetarian alternatives.

if you are in yoga,it makes a difference especially your mind with an egg in your intestine.

Yes,you can do without an egg.Nature has given us such an abundant choice that no particular item is unavoidable. It depends on your comfort level.

Do people on low carb eat carrots and sweet potatoes?

NO.

Me neither, I just wondered.

why this craving for an unnatural food from the most unhygienic source, when there are much better vegetarian alternatives, like soya, bengalgram ,chickpeas etc

Some people need more protein in their diet and certain meals and/or snacks.

rnpath profile image
rnpath in reply to Activity2004

excess protein is needed only for growing children and pregnant women, not normal healthy adults

mpath,

Not all people can be the same. One thing may work for one person, but not be perfect for the others. Same with if you ate a grapefruit. If you take a medication for blood pressure and ate the grapefruit, it may or may not interfere with the medication you're prescribed by the doctor. The blood pressure medication may work like an overdose/not work at all.

I eat 2 eggs and a Greek yogurt each morning for breakfast because it keeps my blood sugars on an even level with the protein.

Agree with your comments.

managing diabetes is more than just titrating blood sugar levels or keeping HBa1c under 6.

these are just sign posts for guidance, but do not fully address the problems associated with this metabolic disorder involving both carbs as well as fats

I manage my diet by using muscle testing to see what I need (kinesiology). It works by connecting with the auto immune system with the subconscious. Some days I eat eggs up to three, others I find I need fish, others I am vegan and eat beans and veg including sweet potatoes and carrots.

My body rotates food, I find - not wanting the same every day - it is very interesting and it saved my life when I was seriously ill with liver, kidney, pancreas, gallbladder and more problems after being given the wrong prescribed drugs in hospital and the trauma of the wrong surgery and complications - most die from what happened to me, I was told and they expected me to die.

It has left me with symptoms like lupus, however, which again I do my best to manage with diet and life-style changes including exercise, ample rest, being outside to ground myself, avoiding EMFs as much as is possible, meditations and more.

No 2 people are the same and we can only read and learn and then we need to find what is right for us.

Blood groups play a part, too, and when a nutritionist did her best to help me, she found it very difficult and when she asked me what blood groups my parents were and I told her O+ and A-, she said she needed to teach me how to muscle test myself because I couldn't follow one particular diet and she couldn't tell me what to eat. It is brilliant and as I said, helped to save my life.

people are not the same.their digestive capacities depend also to some extent on genetics and so vary

.this also reflects in the quality of life experienced.

Very true.

I have 4 to 6 eggs daily.. with the yellow ofcourse

My sugars are lower & no issue with the usual "Cholesterol" levels..

Last Hba1c is 4.9 which was taken this month

your lab reports look sanitized. with incomplete data.

perhaps you are among the fortunate to have altered your lifestyle to a comfortable prediabetic state, and may be you were not a real diabetic in the first place.

anyway may god bless you

, but I would not advise a known diabetic to follow your diet

in reply to rnpath

Ha Ha

Your statement amuses me.

I am not here to convince anyone to follow my diet

I am here to share what gave me success

For full report you can see the same in the other forum which you know what i mean.

My complete details are posted there.

I am a diabetic with 7.2 A1c at detection. fasting at 152 & PP at 2 hrs was 253.

I am still a diabetic & not a pre diabetic.

If i take sugar or excess carbs even now my levels spikes to 200 mgdl at one hour

I know you are against LCHF... that's upto you to believe or to discard.

But others with some open mind to experiment can be successful..

By the way.. read about Banting diet..

rnpath profile image
rnpath

I am also on low carb vegeterian diet ,but also low fat normal protein .

the banting diet is meant for correction of obesity in nonveg westerners.

unsuitable for an average indian diabetic,as it promotes fatty liver and increases cardiovascular risks

in reply to rnpath

In that case how come my fatty liver was resolved..

I had a fatty liver and a waist size of 35 inches 2 years back.

Now my waist size is 32 inches with central obesity gone & no fatty liver.

Its a misconception spread by vested interests that high fats will lead to fatty liver.

Its actually high carbs + sugars + excess fructose which leads to fatty liver thru a process called De novo lipogenesis.

Of course if high junk fats are added to above diet it will be worst

With low carb & high heathy fats the fatty liver gets resolved

I had also posted the original Joslin diet for diabetics... that which was used before the wide spread usage of pills for T2D. You must have read it.

I am not here to prove that i am right.. rather to share my success with the ancient diet & i am sure more enterprising ones will also get success. '

i don't want to enter into trivial arguments to prove someone wrong

This is my final response to you..

All the best..

if you are satisfied with the quality of life you are experiencing with your diet, fine. may god bless you
