BS reading on elimination of Ayuredic medicines.

I am diabetic for past 16 years. My FBS 155 PP 225. These have been more or less steady at this level. Last 2 years I was on Janumet 50/1000 and volibo 0.2 one each morning and evening. 10 months back I consulted IAIM ayurvedic hospital. While retaining the llopathic medicines, the following were added for taking 3 times daily: Mehanil, D-Nil and Vasant Kusumakar Ras (with gold). I am walking reularly 3 km morning and 2 km evening. After adding all these Ayurvedic medicines, my BS reading did not appreciably come down. Once again I went to my family doctor who felt I am overdozed. He asked me to eliminate all ayurvedic drugs and changed the allopathic medicines to Januvia 50 and Dimicron XR60 one ech morning and evening. Within 15 days, my BS reading became FBS 100 PP 160. This reading is steady for the past 30 days. I am told these are the ideal BS readings required. I am 78. Am keeping good health except for diabetes.

That is very impressive to know how active you are to maintain a regular walk 5 kms daily for a 78-year-old person resulting a general good health except for diabetes. Even though you have been taking different types of medicines but with no success in control BSL. Do you control your carbs each meals? Look for more information on the Internet about GI and GL to help you choose the right food choices. Good luck.

PP160 cannot be considered as ideal. It should have been below 140.
