I am diabetes from last 18 years, i like to suggest rules for vegetarian Indians,
1.take your medicines timely - increase - reduce only after doctor advice
2.take madhunashni 2-2 tablets daily -EVEN your diabetes is in control.( that will help to improve immune and metabolism )
3. one-hour exercise is compulsory ( running+walking + pranayama )
4. test fasting sugar every month
5. AB1C - blood sugar test every 3 months - without fail.
6. food- eat less in the night , eat all things but in control .
7. do deep breathing when go to bed ( 5 minutes )
