Of late, I have been reading the effect of a compound called Tocotrienols (one of the two classes of compounds available in Vitamin E) on type-2 diabetes subjects. According to some of the research papers published (links provided below) , having 250 to 400 mg of tocotrienol for around 6 months reduced their hba1c levels. Tocotrienols is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and can be classified as a functional food. It is worth talking about this one to your doctor.
I found a positive impact of supplementing Tocotrienol. I added 300 mg of Tocotrienol daily along with 300 mg of R-ALA and 500 mg of Metformin. My hba1c reduced from 6.6% to 6.3% in 3 months.
P.S: I continued with my emmer wheat based diet and normal physical activities
Hi All, I am reading a lot on how to treat Type 2 Diabetes by using Functional Nutrition. Many are off medicines or on reduced medicines after taking to Functional Nutrition. I am looking for a nutritionist who can guide. Any thoughts on this please share. some of the supplements suggested are NAD, Berberine, D3 K2,etc
