A 65-year-old heart patient has been asked to lose weight to manage her condition. Please share the contact details of doctors/dietitians in Bangalore who prescribe LCHF diets to their patients/clients.

I have taken treatment from two important diabetes clinics at Bangalore. I am sure,they have not heard of LCHF.Better you locate some persons who are practicing it.

Yes. I am from Hyderabad and contacted Dr. Vijayaraghavan and his Dietician in Chennai. It is worth to go to Chennai for 1st visit. Later, we can interact with them through whatsapp and emails. 1st time, I met them personally in Dec,2016 and subsequently, contacting through whatsapp and emails at no cost. They are very good advocates of LCHF and they charge just ₹200/- on your 1st consultation. Pl take his appointment, medical reports as advised and meet them personally. Definitely, you will not regret your visit to Chennai.

Eating too much or not being physically active enough will make you overweight. To maintain your weight, the calories you eat must equal the energy you burn. To lose weight, you must use more calories than you eat. A weight-control strategy might include :--

* Choosing low-fat, low-calorie foods

* Eating smaller portions

* Drinking water instead of sugary drinks

Being physically active

* Avoid single high concentrated meals.

* Food high in fibre content like vegetables, whole pulses, fruits, etc.

Ideal combination of diabetic diet should be:--

Carbohydrates: 55-60%.

Fat: 30%.

Proteins: 15-20% (0.8g /kg /body wt).

Fibres 40 g/day.

DIABETIC DIET

Do not eat at all:--

Sugar, jam, syrups, honey, sweets, chocolates, fruit juices, ice creams, cold drinks, glucose drinks, cakes and pastries, sweet biscuits, puddings

and protein powder with sugar.

Eat in moderation:--

Bread, chapatis, oat porridge, cornflakes (No sugar), Cheese, butter, Noodles or spaghetti, macroni, Thick soups, Milk & milk products, Chicken,

lean meat, fish.

Take unrestricted:--

* Salads (cucumber, tomato, onion, raddish, salad leaves).

* Vegetables (cabbage, baigan, lady fingers, french beans, methi, palak).

* Fruits (except banana, chockoo or mangoes).

* Sprouted beans and pulses.

* Marie biscuit (with less sugar).

* Clear soups, Lemon juice, Buttermilk

Please sir. I beg of you. These are old concepts. You are posting ada ama aha diet which have failed miserably in controlling D and its complications.

Not low but high good fats like co,vco, evoo, palm kernel oil, avocado oil, homemade ghee. Mustard fine. Use sfa for cooking. Co, vco and ghee are the best for cooking. Evoo for dressing.

Ideal combination is 20:20:60 c : p :f.

Fruits and fructose are the cause for nafld. Best fruits are apple, guava, all the berries, avocado but in moderation. Mango half to one well ripened but then no carb with it.

No to the items made from refine flour. So marie and bread are out of list. One average size chapati is 30-35 g carb. No to corn flakes. Just check sugar after taking cornflakes. Glucose powder sold in market is made mainly from corn.

No need to go anywhere,you can loose weight yourself by following ancient diet pattern,eat less work more. be physically active. Other places are for minting money.

If she or someone in family can understand lchf concept it'll be better not to go anywhere. But fine if they consult someone for dietary guidance. Unless she is very determined she can't lose weight. Lchf is all about determination and understanding.
