Reducing carb helps a lot.

I'm a diabetic since 1992. I'm now 58+. My HBA1C was 12.2 on 22-Oct-16. Stopped taking rice, only a small piece of multi-grain btead at break-fast. Take white part of 8 eggs a day. Eat 6/8 green apple (low GI) a day. At lunch I take carrot, capsicum, onion, olive & lemon. On 20-02-17 my HBA1C reduced to 8.2. Also my weight reduced by 10KG. My next target is to reduce HBA1C below 7 by next 3 months.

Good effort. Keep it up. Are you feeling full energetic whole day with this amount of carb ?

I used to take both short & long acting insulin along with Galvas (1+0+1). Now my short acting insulin is withdrawn & long acting is reduced. FBS is now around 4. Thanks

Good explanation here, thanks concerned. I do have same questions on the amount of green apples and the egg whites intakes. Even though apple is low GI but eating big quantity a day seem to raise BS. I used to eat one medium size green apple between meal on empty stomach and planned to have lunch later on. Once I checked my BSL, it was 7.0. Since then I eat half an apple at the time with some nuts or raw veggies. I definitely never throw away the yummy and excellent egg yolks.

Yes, I agree with Luckysugar , instead of so many green apples you can have nuts and seeds like walnut ,coconut , almond , brazil nut , peanuts , pumpkin seeds and chia seeds etc. , and 2 Tablespoon Chia seeds mixed with lukewarm full fat milk ,2 tbsp cream & some slices of strawberries or apples make a delicious breakfast option :)
