I am 67 yrs. old male and was diagnosed with diabetes in 1999. 3 months ago I stopped taking Janumet 1000/50 and GlipZIDE 2.5mg but again take it once a while when I cheat in eating Indian/Chinese buffets and sweets. My A1C is 5.6 and weight fluctuates between 137 lbs and lbs.143 for the last 2 months. I have been on Egg fast diet and LCHF diet. I watch my Carbs but do I need to worry about daily intake of calories and how much? I seldom take Rice,Roti,Bread,Sugar and Milk. I drink Almond Silk Milk and use Ghee,VCO and Olive Oil for my cooking. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

However, excess of any thing is not good.
What has your doctor said about the issue? When was your last appointment?

You can become drug free if your a1c is 5.6. Forget rice, bread, sugar and milk. Roti also should be restricted. What is Almond silk milk ?
Thanks. I believe Almond Silk Milk is made with almonds. I don't know exactly but 8oz. serving has only 30 calories. It's available here in USA at any grocery Store.
Seems you are doing well. Calorie intake is not required to be monitored if your BMI is less than 25 or declared overweight/obese.
It sounds like you have a healthy diet ☺ Did you consult with your Dr about your meds.....I think that taking it consistently might be better for overall control?
Thanks. I understand. I will be careful now on.
