There are many side effects of apple cider vinegar. Because of presence of high acetic acid, it is highly acidic. In olden times it was used as a cleaning agent and disinfectant.
Starting with mouth it causes loss of tooth enamel. It highly irritant, causing severe diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort. It can cause lowering of potassium in blood ,thereby reducing bone density. Because of presence of chromium in Apple cider vinegar it can cause alteration in insulin action.
It is on records that acv has caused oesophageal burn.
WHAT PATLIPUTRA SAYS IS CORRECT. I USED ACV. IT YIELDED RESULT. THERE WAS DROP IN FASTING SUGAR LEVEL. BUT I FELT LOSS OF TOOTH ENAMEL. IT ALSO INCREASED ACIDITY PROBLEM. FOR LONG USE OF ACV NOT RECOMMENDED.
The same response we don't see for sugar & maida as well as the junk oil recommendation.....
Foolishly Drs still recommend Marie Biscuits for Daibetics?
I have heard my elders saying that using toddy, also known as coconut vinegar is very beneficial for diabetes patients. I suppose this stuff is local ACV to the people of Kerala. I am trying to get some, and am going to try it.
Jambul vinegar is not strong as acv.Taste is also very good...yes if not diluted properly it affects enamal. Further jambul vinegar contains about 98% jambul juice. Jambul is known anti diabetic herb. Jambul works as Acorbose. You may check delayed sugar spike at your sugar meter after consuming jambul vinegar.
Any vinegar is an acetate (diluted acetic acid), so, dilution is to be made 2 teaspoon in 250 ml of plain water. What you have to say about lemon juice? it is citric acid? It makes buffer solution in water maintaining pH value.
Vinegar depletes potassium.... May be...but no one is talking about depletion of coq 10 by STATIN..in that case we are told to do cost benefit analysis. Very wise...
