Diet drinks really help to keep blood sugar down ?

Diet drinks are loaded with sugar substitutes like aspertame, sucralose etc and regular intake of these drinks will lead one to load himself with these chemicals. They may not pose much of risk when taken in very moderate quantities, but in diet drinks the dosages become relatively high.I have read some where that because of this reason, regular drinks are considered relatively safer than diet drinks.A diabetic has to make a very considered choice in this matter.
ok but what is considered a high dose? I drink diet Pepsi maybe a 2 liter a day plus 5 bottled water as I work outside year round .
I restrict myself to 3 pills of sucralose per day, after coming to conclusion that it ls less than safe limit. There were lengthy discussions on this subject in this forum, but I could not access those posts. Please search on google. There is plenty of information.
Thanks I don't drink any alcohol but I would like to know if it does lower your bs levels.
