Need opinion of glucose tolerance test.

My Glucose tolerance test result is as follows:-

Fasting : 96

I took 60 gram of glucose.

Result :

At 32 minute : 131

At 60 minute : 153

At 92 minute : 140

At 122 minute : 127

Need opinion on the result. Test has been done by GM. I am diabetes 2 patient since March 2014.

On advice of my aurvedacharya i did this test. His feedback is awaited.

I do not have any type of complication except blurred vision when diabetes detected. I am on aurved supplements and somewhat on homeopath medicine. My random test comes between 79 to 95 after 3 hrs. of meals. I am regular user of aloe vera and amla juice also from AVG.

These BS values don't change your status as a diabetic. What are your PPBS values after 1hr and 2hr after meals?

Generally I take measurement between 1 to 1.5 hour and results come from 135 to 122.

If your BS levels are FBS<90, PPBS 1hr<140 and PPBS 2hr < 120 then your diabetes is well managed.

Have ever tested your insulin levels?

No sir I have not tested insulin level. Actually i m not aware of this test.

Fasting insulin level will tell if you are insulin resistant. It can be done at any lab. For some individuals BS level may be near normal but insulin levels may be high and higher insulin levels are equally problematic like high BS levels.

As meetu77 already said you are moderately insulin resistant. Have you tested FBS with insulin?

To decrease IR you have to reduce carbs.

So with BS control one has to control insulin levels also.

Sir, my fbs was 91 when i got tested fasting insulin level. Does fasting insulin level 14.7 is normal or it will be considered on higher side?

I am wondering who diagnosed you as diabetic! It is true ogtt is after taking 75 gms of glucose ,so please repeat the test in a proper way and post the results. Please also get your HbA1c done.Till then i am refraining from giving any comment.

I will not comment on HbA1C in isolation. Your fasting insulin is within normal reference range. So all depends on your blood sugar levels.In your post you wrote fbs as 96. So same day fasting and pp bs will decide,if you are pre diabetic or not.

Thanks Meetuji for your reply. My HbA1c was 10 when my diabetes detected in March 2014. At time i was suffering from Typhoid. By means of aurved I have come to current level and i believe, i will improve it much in coming time,

@meetu77 Yes fat will cause cancer but in trans fat and partially in pufa form.
