There should not be any change in diet, exercise and medicines before testing. If you stop medicines then how can you judge its effect.

Only overnight fast is required, other things remains the same.

Your case is perfect example of why PPBS should always be the first marker for diabetes and not FBS.

For managing diabetes effectively LCHF diet is the only recipe. If that doesn't suit you, then other recipe is drugs.

Thanks for reply.

My height is 5' 8'' and weight is 65 kgs which I am maintaining since last 10 yrs. My age is 50 years. I have been diagnosed as diabetic two years back.

My routine diet is, In breakfast I take one bowl of soaked chickpeas mixed with chopped half raw onion and salt. with this seldom I take a glass of whole milk but not often.

In Lunch at 2 pm I take 3 chapatis with one bowl of vegetable or dal mixed with one spoon of butter (desi ghee) along with seasonal salad and at 6 pm I eat one chapati along with one seasonal fruit.

and dinner at 9 pm with 3 chapatis with one bowl of vegetable or dal mixed with one spoon of butter (desi ghee).

My medicines are

Glimiprex 1mg 1 tab before 10 minutes of Lunch,

Metformin SR 500 1tab with dinner

Mega Neuran 1 cap after dinner

In addition i walk 3-4 Km per day in the evening.

Some times I feel hypoglycemia at around 6PM or late at night. Someone suggested me to stop medicines but I fear it will raise my blood sugar.

Pl suggest me if I should make any change in my diet as I want to stop or minimize the dose of medicines.

Thanks.

7 chapatis of 40 grams each = 140 grams carbs.

Add another 100 (maybe more) from other things and you are on a typical high carb low fat diet. This will make things go from bad to worse as time passes. Weight etc has no relevance unless you are overly obese. In any case, your height/weight is normal so nothing much to be attempted there.

Alternative for better control with lower drugs is LCHF diet.
