Because of medicine readings are in range.you should consult. Doctor

You are getting excellent results now and medicines are a part of the equation.By stopping medicines, you will be disturbing the equation and the BS levels may spike again.Let the doctor decide to moderate your medicine dosage during next review.

Before changing your medication doses or going off them completely, please talk with your doctor about the issue, first.

Go to the next level of testing diabetic-- HbA1c

I checked its '6'

Your a1c is still high. Think of stopping medicaton only when it's 5.6 and less. Stopping medication is a trial and error method. It's not very easy because then you will have to have very stringent dietary management for the rest of your life.

Keep us abreast. Good luck.

Check your HbA1c i.e. your average blood sugar levels over the last three months.

If the count is normal, then the medicine dosage can be reduced gradually under the guidance of your healthcare provider.

6 is good and you can actually discuss with your doctor about reducing your medicine dosage (provided you have an active lifestyle and healthy eating habits).

It also depends on what medications you are taken currently. But, going off medications is possible. Do discuss it with your doctor.

HbA1c at 6% indicates prediabetic level and fairly high at that . A person with Prediabetes (high risk of developing diabetes in the future) usually has a A1c between 5.7% and 6.4% .Your diabetes medicines are obviously helping you to achieve this level so reducing medicines now may not be a good idea ,you can work for bringing it further down to 5% before thinking of reducing your meds. Good luck !

Fasting glucose level for diabetics should be between 120-130 and PP should be between 170-180. Your fasting sugar is 91. This is too less. Such low fasting sugar levels may at times result into hypoglycimea. Your HbA1c at 6 is very good. You must consult endocrinologist. He would review your medicine intake and advise you accordingly. He may slowly reduce the medicines that you are taking. Let the endocrinologist take the call. 91 fasting sugar for a diabetic is too low and may result into dangerous consequences of getting hypoglycaemic that may even be fatal. Go to endocrinologist.

Truly speaking is right

Check fasting and PP level without taking medicines for one day. If level has not been increased then do this for two more days.

If it's increasing gradually that means you can't be off from medicines. If not then you can put off the medicines but remember to check blood glucose level at least once in a week.

Also limit carbohydrate intake, avoid sweets & starchy vegetables and go for lchf diet if possible.

Keep watch on A1c and gradually taper down on medication. Check glucose level often. if there is change get back to the medication.

When I detect diabetics first time time my reading was Fasting sugar 185

PP -278 and HbA1c- 9.6% @ April 2017

Then after consulting Dr as per suggestions I use Gilmed MF 2 generic Tablets after lunch 1 tab after dinner 1/2 tab and taking one ayurvedic kadha at early morning with empty stomach Daily walk 3 km at morning

From last 11 months

Gilmed MF2 contains Glimpride 2mg and Metformin 1000mg is quite strong for someone recently diagnosed having diabetes which explains the swing of BS from 91 fasting (or lower) and to somewhat higher levels of PP taking your HbA1c to 6% ,you can discuss with your doctor about redistributing it in smaller dosage to breakfast, lunch and dinner if he considers it right .All the same congrats. for controlling your BS levels and bringing down your HbA1c from 9.6% to 6% in a span of one year ! that's really great , keep it up :) you can also find out about LCHF diet on this web site which will help you to live healthy with less or no medicines .

Your A1c is 6 % as u had mentioned

U can't stop medicines at this figure

U can stop medicines once your A1c reaches 5 %

I’m not a Dr and can not suggest what you should or should not do. Your numbers seem to be in normal range but that may be because you are taking meds. I don’t know your situation. Consult with a Dr.
