Confusing reports

I have been using Dr Morepen GlucoOne blood glucose monitor BG 03 for about 15 days but each time I am shocked to watch the result. Whenever I try to test I face a stunning report.Out of frustration I tested BG in a laboratory and found to utmost content that the report was after my assumption. Why so? The owner of the shop from where I bought the monitor told me not to press the finger tip to ooze blood, it may take the sugar level to a higher degree. Is it right? I had to spend Rs 1000 for that instrument, but I am in a mess. No other way than to buy a new one.

Please compare the results of your glucometer with lab. reports several times and see the difference in figures. If the proportion of difference remains more or less same, you will always able to calculate a near actual bs level at home.

My experience with Dr. Morepen's glucometer is bad one. Most of the time it showed higher readings. One Touch Select Simple is reasonably accurate.

Dr. Morepen's glucometer is giving me lower readings compared to Onetouch Ultra for me

Accua check Active is better than any one mentioned here,it has coding chip with strips which are being used with it.Do not press the finger containing blood on the strip.Go to website http//acc-check.co.UK/gb/mobilefs... for Enhanced instructions for proper testing with the AC CU-Check mobile system to avoid the potential of falsely elevated blood glucose readings. While checking the glucose reading in the labor try, keep your meter with yourself and ask technecition to drop one drop of blood which has been extracted from your arm veins, see simultaneously results, correlate with labor try result,if there is significant difference. Repeat the test, accuracy of your glucometer will be checked. Also see if strips you are using are not expired.

Glucometer is for those who are very old n cannot move around / bedridden .At times they are faulty. Besides, if you have one at home, one is 'constantly anxious ' abt checking up on a weekly basis. Suggest , do not worry abt the money spent, have regular brisk walks , have quacker oats (with water , no milk) daily for breakfast, do kapalbhatti n brahmari , to relax yourself n make urself stress- free. Do not worry unnneccessarily over trivial matters , do not worry about work , kids ......., enjoy life, take each day at a time n keep smiling always ! Then hv your lab tests every two months... I m sure your sugar levels wud be normal ! George

The shopkeeper's instruction not to press the finger too much to ooze blood is and taking sugar level higher, is from his lack of knowledge in this area. Your instrument is to be calibrated. Please contact company representative for calibration. You can also compare with a number of readings from lab tests.

Actually my diabetic nurse at the docs told me not to squeeze finger as it then mixes the blood with the serum blood and can actually cause a higher reading.

I press the finger after the I prick the lancelet. I use ACCUCHECK ACTIVE. I know of many D patients doing the same thing. No one including my doctor has told me it is wrong.

There is capillary action. You have to just bring the drop near the the strip.

Meters are not accurate compared to labs. 5 to 10% variation either way may be there. Higher the BS, error will be higher.

I don't squeeze. I make sure my hands are warm. Then after pricking I lower my hand below my heart and let gravity do the work. You shouldn't squeeze. Honestly. It makes your readings higher.

You were earlier advised for Accuchek glucometer, Dr Morepen glucometer is of inferior quality, this company has doomed itself in the pharma consumer market because of their poor quality control. They have saddened their shareholders also. Please throw away the old one and go for new one as suggested by all.

I have done so ; have thrown away the glucometer and ordered for an ACCuchek Active. Let's hope for the best. Thank you.

The one you use is not a popular brand. There are many other brands like Accu check, One touch horizon, etc. Without squeezing little the blood will not come out unless you make little deep prick. Always rely on the test of reputable laboratory only. Do more brisk walking so that sugar level will come down. I am using one touch, which seems satisfactory.

SQUEEZING THE FINGER WILL NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE IN THE RESULT. I USE ONE TOUCH ULTRA. IT IS GOOD.

Onetouch ultra gives higher reading with repsect to morepen gluco one. This is happening consistently with new set of test strips i bought recently

My condition i also same. I m 5 month pregnant and due to this i had gestational diabetes.

On urgent basis i need glucose meter so i brought dr morepen which is available in my nearest medical store. After that in 3 day reading the number was high and according to that doctor prescribe me to take insulin per day after meals(that is 3 time per day). I was shocked and to cofirm it i did lab report and it show normal report.

i have tried customer care number but never nobody receive. Then tried by mail and by mail they just saying their executive will come and reset the machine then it will work fine. It about a month but nobody is came and they are saying same thing by mail again and again. still i m following them on mail but no proper reply and now i got tired and going to buy another company glucose meter.

I just wasted my full effort, money and time. I m lucky that i have decided to take lab test before staring the insulin otherwise something can happen to my unborn baby. I totally disappointing with this. how careless they are for their customer.
