right now this week Hb 1Ac test is 6.6% of my mother so my mother have diabetic or not if she is diabetic then which tablet she will take?

my mother have diabetic from 4 years then doctor give tablet but before 2 month ago she said that her suagr glucose level is low then she decide to leave tablet then one month she did not take any tablet of diabetic then after one month she decide to Hb 1A c test right now her test is 6.6% so please tell me my mother is diabetic patient or not and which tablet she will take?

she said when i take tablet glucofage 500mg then my sugar level is come on low level so what she will do please help me.

An HbA1c of 5.6% or less is normal.

The following are the results when the HbA1c is being used to diagnose diabetes:--

* Normal: Less than 5.7%

* Pre-diabetes: 5.7% to 6.4%

* Diabetes: 6.5% or higher

Glycosylated Hb. is retrospective watch to see the controled status of DM in last one month. it is better to have Her Fasting & 2 Hrs PP Blood Sugar to advice for proper drugs. Earlier if it was controlled with prior drugs , she must continue it. She also needs her Serum Urea,Creatinin to be tested.Diabetes can be controlled with Drug & diets only.
