According to Kris Gunnars, his is a a site that helps people make informed decisions about their health based on the best scientific evidence available.

He says,”If you’ve spent any amount of time looking for health information online, then you’ve probably realized that the advice is conflicting and that no one seems to agree on anything.

All of the gurus have a product to sell and most opinions are more about belief and personal experience than facts.

The main goal of this site is to search the scientific literature for true answers, preferably from randomized controlled trials which are the gold standard of research.

Then the scientific jargon is deciphered to make it understandable by professionals and laypeople alike. Every effort is made to be objective, unbiased, honest and to present both sides of the argument.

There’s one thing that nutrition professionals have had remarkable success with… and that is demonizing incredibly healthy foods.

If you’re interested in the truth about nutrition, then you are in the right place!”

He has given the following 11 MYTHS in the nutrition world, and has given scientific reference and proofs in his site for proving that these are just myths. The counter points (excerpts) are given just below the MYTH....

1. Eggs Are Unhealthy

Eggs do not cause heart disease and are among the most nutritious foods on the planet. Eggs for breakfast can help you lose weight.

2. Saturated Fat is Bad For You

Newer studies have proven that saturated fat does not cause heart disease. Natural foods that are high in saturated fat are good for you.

variety of health problems.

5. Low-Fat Foods Are Good For You

Low-fat foods are usually highly processed products loaded with sugar, corn syrup or artificial sweeteners. They are extremely unhealthy.

6. You Should Eat Many Small Meals Throughout The Day

There is no evidence that eating many small meals throughout the day is better than fewer, bigger meals. Not eating from time to time is good for you. Increased meal frequency is associated with colon cancer.

7. Carbs Should Be Your Biggest Source of Calories

The low-fat, high-carb diet is a miserable failure and has been proven repeatedly to be vastly inferior to lower-carb, higher-fat diets.

8. High Omega-6 Seed and Vegetable Oils Are Good For You

Humans need to get Omega-6 and Omega-3 fats in a certain ratio. Eating excess Omega-6 from seed oils raises your risk of disease.

9. Low Carb Diets Are Dangerous

Low-carb diets are the healthiest, easiest and most effective way to lose weight and reverse metabolic disease. It is a scientific fact

10. Sugar is Unhealthy Because it Contains “Empty” Calories

The harmful effects of sugar go way beyond empty calories. Sugar wreaks havoc on our metabolism and sets us up for weight gain and many serious diseases.

11. High Fat Foods Will Make You Fat

As with anything, this depends on the context. A diet that is high in fat AND high in carbs will make you fat, but it’s NOT because of the fat.

In fact, diets that are high in fat (and low in carbs) cause much greater fat loss than diets that are low in fat

Do not be fooled. Kris Gunnars' articles are not reliable sources of information. He is a self-claimed "expert" in the field of nutrition. Just having a look at the title of his website, "Authority Nutrition", can tell you he does not speak from a humble and balanced position. I would like to refer you to this article. theveganrd.com/2014/04/pale...
