Just diagnosed with ulcerative collitus...just started university and confused with all the overload of info online. Recommended this support group for others who have the same diagnosis.

Hi Healthinform, welcome to the group. It can be really overwhelming so l would suggest only looking at the Crohns and Colitis UK site if you feel you have to look online. Speak with your consultant/specialist nursing team if you need help. Symptoms can differ from person to person so it’s about finding out what triggers you, my personal symptoms are triggered by stress, and a small selection of food (strawberries, spicy curry, wine, onions). Starting out at university and the stress of that won’t have helped you so try and get enough sleep (earplugs if you are in halls) take things a day at a time. I find breathing techniques/meditation helps me to relax and there are lots online to try. Take care of yourself
