Hi, I have a colonoscopy in 2 weeks as I suffer with ulcerative colitis and was born with anal altreasia.
Soon after my last colonscopy, I had severe chest pains and was admitted to swindon hospital. I don’t know what may have caused this heart pain (gas / air / drugs)??
Now I’m worried it may happen again. and not looking forward to taking the plenvue preparation medication.!! I think I’ll spend all night on the toilet. I’m worried about driving to the hospital to and waiting around. Also can I drive back?
Also I love food so gonna struggle avoiding my fav foods for a week!!
Any recommendations / advice

It’s not a week. I start a few days before having light meals like soups. The actual yucky stuff is over less than 24 hours. If you go light a few days before you start the yucky stuff the toileting isn’t as hard on you. Tell your specialist what happened last time and hopefully that be minimised.
You can drive yourself there and back as long as you DON’T have sedation, if you do then no you can’t drive afterwards and have to have someone stay with you for 12-24 hours.
Diet wise, every hospital has their own instructions, I’ve never had to limit foods for a week, it’s just the day before for me but see what your hospital advises.
The pain you had could well have been caused by the air they pump in, it can be very painful for a while. Make sure you tell the endoscopist beforehand.
