Infiximab

I have infusions of infliximab every 8 weeks the last 2 years with great success and last one only Friday just goneI now have a flare up and wondered if I could have any steroids to calm it down.

I can't get hold of consultant or IBD flare up team to find out.

Before my diagnosis it was only steroids that calmed it down

My doctor didn't know if I can and asked if I could ask my consultant. I have looked on Internet and says may cause serious infection! But not sure what else could have

Thanks

Hi thereI was on infliximab a couple years ago. I didn't have flare but built antibodies so now on Humira. Have you had antibody test as that will help make informed decision. I had steroids at beggining but made me feel ill.

Hi thanks for reply and that sounds good idea to have that if I can, will find out. I used to have steroids a lot before diagnosis and luckily I was ok with them as they were the only thing that would calm it down
