Exercise during a flare up

Hi,

I am currently going through a severe flare, my first in 9 years. I have Crohns. Up until this I have always been very active, running, spin classes and exercise classes but haven’t been able to do any of these due to the flare up.

Are there any gentle forms of exercise I could do that could maybe help?

Thanks

Would swimming or maybe even a light form of yoga help? Sorry i can't be more help, i haven't been able to go to the gym in a while due to how I'm feeling and like you I'm looking for other options.

Yes I was thinking a bit of yoga too.

Maybe pilates? I'm not sure if that would be good x

I worked with a Nurse who said Tai Chi was one of the best exercises if unwell.

I am extremely active person. Whilst in flare I'm generally unable to do any form of exercise however, once the meds start to kick in I am able to have leisurely walks and swim. These activities keep me sane until I am able to run and bike again. It's hard and you have to go on how you feel. I am a triple ironman finished in between flares so don't give up hope .

Thank you it’s so hard going from being fairly active and fit to not being able to do anything!
