Is this Chronic Gastritis, or something more? I have a range of horrible symptoms such as cramps, nausea, dizziness, and yellow-jelly stool.

I have been dealing with gastrointestinal issues for the last five (or more) years. Up until a few months back when I was in the hospital, we didn't know that my gallbladder had basically died. It was at a 0% ejection rate and no longer functioned properly, causing pain, and other issues. Because of this, it had to be removed. We had multiple tests done, including a scope. It showed that I had gastritis and esophagitis with erosions, because bile was backing up into my stomach and into my esophagus. No biopsy had been taken in the colonoscopy. I'm not if it's because it wasn't needed, or they weren't looking for that kind of thing (Idk much about colonoscopies lol). It has now been nine months and I have been having hemorrhoids repeatedly, my stomach 'burns' lot and I feel bloated very frequently. I have almost constant flank pain (primarily left side), terrible daily nausea with dizziness, cramping, awful heat flashes, and a stool that looks just like apricot jam/jelly/mucus accompanied by lots of bile. I will have these waves of terrible ill feelings that have no rhyme of reason, and I'm not sure why. Is this chronic gastritis, or something more? I have immune system issues like psoriasis, HS, and many family members with autoimmune complications, so I am unsure if it is all connected in some way. I would love the help in answering/ advice with why I am still having these symptoms. Thanks in advance.

It would, normally, be an automatic event for a biopsy to be taken during a colonoscopy, as long as it was deemed appropriate by the operator (who is generally a consultant gastroenterologist). Hemorrhoids are generally caused by straining or multiple bowel motions. Unfortunately, it is not possible to give you a diagnosis over the phone or internet, but there are things you can do to mitigate the ill feelings you have.

Firstly, do not drink alcohol or any fizzy drinks (reduce the gas and bloating of the stomach), secondly, do not eat peanuts or sweetcorn (they are indigestible and come out looking the same as when they went in). Do not eat Brussel sprouts or baked beans (obvious reasons). You should keep an accurate diary of all foods eaten and drunk, together with details of bowel motions (with photos if possible) and pains including heartburn. Try to arrange a telephone appointment with your GP or GI team, and let them have the information and photos..... They should be able to help you. What have they given you for the heartburn/esophagitis? What are they doing about the excess bile you appear to have?

Good luck and stay safe.

I have been given omeprazole(acid reflux/ heartburn), Ursodiol (for the bile?), and Sucralfate (erosions on the lining of my stomach). I don't drink alcohol, or carbonated beverages, and most of those foods I don't normally eat. I have an appointment with a new GI doctor soon. I didn't have a good experience with the last GI group, a lot of things went wrong and were ignored, so I'm hoping for actual answers here. Thank you for your advice.☺

Immune system and gastro are so connected. Never ever take antibiotics. If you have gastritis and esophagitis, you have to heal that first and see what happens. Trying different kinds of foods is like trying different kinds of medicines. For digestive health, whole foods is your best friend, anything that is not process i meant. And anything that you can cook. Raw foods are hard to process for your already sensitive digestive so avoid raw foods like veggie salads, it will make u bloated and causes pain. So what i did with gastritis is i drink smoothie blueberry, there are frozen blueberry on stores, i just blend it with water and nothing else , on a blender and drink it every day. Or everytime i my stomach ache and im at work, no time to eat, i have with me a blueberry smoothie and drink it. Just few days, the gastrtitis goes away. And dont ever let yourself hungry before you eat, and dont ever let your stomach get full. Thats why its better to eat small amount of food but eat frequently. When i was healing and quarantined, i took the chance to eat just a cup of cooked food 5times a day. So 6 am, 9 am, 12 noon, 3 pm and 7 pm. When i went back to work i only eat 3 times , but i carry blueberry smoothie at work and drink it when i start to feel the ache or hunger . Blueberry has tannin that helps heal the gastritis. Blend Blueberry and water and is enough
