I have had "IBS" for as long as I can remember. I cant finish a meal most days without my stomach cramping up in excruciating pain and having to run to the toilet with diarrhea. If I cant get to a toilet quick enough my whole body shivers and I sweat. I have pain constantly in my lower stomach predominantly on the left hand side and my hips on the left hand side often go numb. I have had 8 anal fissures in the space of 2/3 months as well, I've kind of got used to the pain now though. My stool usually contains a lot of mucus and is usually bright yellow but I do get colds a lot so this could contribute I suppose. I guess I'm just asking could this possibly be crohns disease? I have been tested for celiacs disease and when it came back negative I was sent on my way! Its really ruling my life. I cant go for meals with my friends and family because half way through my food I have to leave for 10 minutes to go to the toilet and they ask questions. Thank you for reading. I've made a doctors appointment anyway cos I'm really cracking down on this! But I'm just asking for your opinions.. *not sure if this is relevant but I have acid reflux, back spasms, dry sore eyes, stress urine incontinency, pcos, depression and am waiting on diagnostic laparoscopy to confirm endometriosis*

Hi., this definitely sounds like an inflammatory bowel disease and not IBS and you need referring to a gastroenterologist ASAP. Whilst you wait to see someone try a low residue diet. basically white fish, turkey and rice. avoid any fibre or roughage and over cook any veg. its the most boring and bland diet ever but it will help rest your bowels, its not a cure, but hopefully make symptoms more manageable. follow this link for more advice healthline.com/health/crohn....
please don't hesitate if you need anymore advice x
Thank you for your reply. I'll make a gp appointment first thing tomorrow. My stomach has been so bad tonight! I've been doubled over in agony followed by 30 minutes on the toilet and nausea I feel so weak now, I could sleep for a couple of days! This is really draining me! Xx
Drink plenty of water and rest up hun. i find if i lie on my side with a pillow between my knees, and sort of under stomach supporting it, helps alleviate some of the pain as it stops stomach pulling to side and having knees apart stops stomach being sort of squashed. its hard to explain but hopefully you can get what I mean. let me know how you get on x
I jsut wanted to say thank you so much for the bland rice tip!
I have endometriosis & had IBD ruled out but still struggle with these symptoms (including passing of lots of blood which no one seems to care about lol). I usually alternate between extremes, sometimes to the point of possible obstructions but this past week I've had constant severe diarrhea.
I thought I'd follow this page to see if I come across any advice on managing those symptoms and your comment is exactly the type of thing I needed!
