I was told by my GP in May that I have calprotectin. The level was 118 but she had not prescribed any anti biotics. I have been treating the inflammation with immune busters (ginger, cinnamon and turmeric) and it seems to be working. However I have no idea what foods I should be eating and what foods I should avoid. Does anyone out there have any information that can help me. I am due to have a colonoscopy and laproscooy in October when I return from 2 week holiday to India. Hope someone out there can help.
Thank you

The calprotectin level is an indicator of inflammation, and is used to distinguish between IBD and IBS. Unfortunately apart from peanuts, sweetcorn and fizzy drinks, most people have to find their own foods to avoid, that is what makes this disease(s) so welcome (not). You will be better equipped once you have the results of your colonoscopy etc.
