I had my consultant write with my results of small bowel mri, no further action needed but have ongoing minor Tummy issues. Minimum bowel movements and bloating, uncomfortable feeling. I am on other forums as know somethings not right with my body but can’t get an answer as to what.
The hospital finding was
“There is poor opacification of the small bowel loops. No abnormal small bowel wall thickening demonstrated.
The Large bowel imagined is normal
Conclusion: no significant abnormality”
Can anyone help as I don’t understand the
“There is poor opacification of the small bowel loops”
Thanks

I believe this means that the contrast they gave you didn’t reach or last long enough for the test, but there was nothing to worry about, as this is not unusual. However, if you are worried, you can ask your GP.
For what it’s worth: imaging results can do little to clarify some cases. Eg after 5 years of multidiscipline investigations my nhs consultants are saying i have a crohns-like enteropathy which all my imaging & lab tests have failed to fully diagnose (i’ve had everything from colonoscopy to video capsule endoscopy & MRI of small bowel), but i am responding pos to 10mg pred so we know it’s inflammatory, and i am on predigested cartons of enteral elemental nutrition (EEN) long term because my small intestines can no longer digest food. I
I too have lived & still live with predisposition to chronic obstipation & bloating & discomfort + all the other stuff (hyperractivity, slow transit obstructions with projectile vomiting & rapid weight loss, malabsorption etc etc). And my EEN + meds are helping me feel better than i have in decades, even though i’m not fully diagnosed yet
