So I've been diagnosed with long term post infectious IBS I've suffered for 2 years had cameras up and down multiple calprotectin levels checked always above 140 so I'm basically on the edge nearing ibd. Thing is I've found out I'm pregnant and the only medication that stops me from constantly going to the toilet is loperamide (immodium) but im not allowed to take it so last night I woke up with excruciating pain yet again on the toilet. I'm right back to where I was a year ago. And don't know if if I can cope. Dr has said I can take codiene as they slow the bowels down. Is there anything anyone knows I can do other than fodmap and brat diet as I basically am on fodmap anyway.

I would be careful taking codeine whilst pregnant, its an opioid and can cross the placenta. Try a low residue diet, this should slow things down x
