I’m currently taking Prednisolone for my UC but the insomnia is ruining my life! Any ideas on a good night sleep folks?

I had insomnia and speedyness with steroids, my husband (no longer here) was driven mad, said it was like living with Zebedee. Work found it fun,I could do two weeks work in one when speedy, although I did have to double check what I did, as damaged concentration. The only thing I did was make use of the extra time, obviously could not Vac but would clear emails and stuff like that, could bore myself to needing to sleep. The one good thing was, in winter I was up to listen to cricket from far flung places, hubby used to come into the sitting room at 6am and discover I had been up all night with the Test Match, He thought cricket was so dull it should have sent me to sleep !! Quite seriously I never found anything other than, relaxation and a hypnosis CD, did anything to at least slow me down. Got myself an under pillow microphone so I could listen to the CDs without waking my husband and found a voice I could relax with, if nothing else can help with the frustration of being awake and twitchy when the rest of the world is snoring away (also to keep me away from the fridge as used to get "fits of the munchies!!"). If I had steroids again now I think I would invest in Audio Books so at least I was comfy and warm in bed. Good luck with this
