Heya everyone , yesterday I completed my first run for week 7 However I am starting to get fed up with the music that comes along with the podcast and felt my own music would be more motivating. I listened to the 5 minute warm up walk then after that i put the timer on my phone for the 25 minutes. Does anyone feel this isnt a good thing to do ?

Oh thats good that someone else is doing it , I found itm uch more motivating but didnt want to feel i was cheating the podcast lol
I gave up after the first run, ok I started this programme at week four had being doing it via a running magazine before that. Your own music motivates you I then downloaded another podcast which allowed me to add a playlist of my own music works a treat the music just turns down when you are due to change from walking to running or vice versa. Keep going you are doing great. I just did week 8 first run feel energised roll on graduation.

I have done exactly the same since W7R1 - I would carry on with Laura if she was going to give us some extra tips on running but no it's just that turgid music. So I am still following the programme but using my wrist stopwatch to time myself, listening to my iphone with a special running playlist I have created myself. Today I finished my run with Meatloaf and Cher singing "Dead Ringer for Love". Helped with the sprint finish!!
You can always use another app, something like Runkeeper. That way you can have your own music playing and still be given mark off points on time and/or distance. From week 7, its all running, might as well be something you like listening too.
If only my music taste was as good as Laura's. Yes, it really is that bad.....
