So it's all basically been going ok. I'm taking an extra rest day (or 3!) between runs now, and it's really paying off. The runs are getting easier and faster, and definitely more enjoyable - but the draw back is that it's all taking a bit longer than I'd anticipated. But hey, I'm hopefully going to make it in the end!
Fantastic run tonight, a bit dark on the side roads (eek!) but the euphoria that descended after the half-way point was just unbeatable! It's hard to describe without resorting to cliches, so I'll use a couple. I was 'running on air' and felt like I had 'more gas left in the tank' :). It's definitely made a real difference using my own music and ditching Laura (sorry Laura, I can't take the instrumental easy listening any longer!) - I really enjoyed my personal 90's indie disco; who knew Shed Severn was top feel good running music?
My goals are:
- to reach the holy 5k in 30 minutes
- not to run in the opposite direction of hills (but to power on up them!)
- to run 5k three times a week.
Onwards to week 9 (although right now, getting up from the sofa feels like it might break me
