W8R3 WOW ! :)

Thursday is my usual 3rd run of the week so after dropping the other half at Tesco I headed for the local sustrans cyclepath on an old railway line that runs behind the superstore. I always look forward running here, its really nice in the sun (last day of nice weather this year??) with plenty of shade running through the trees.

I expected to be back at the start point in less than 28mins so needed to continue further along the track and then walk to the next exit to cover the time. As it was the end of the running week I gave Laura a miss an put music on along with runnkeeper.

Started well (although the app is a PIA and is a little unreliable on my phone) breathing settled easily and turned back at the seats for the return leg. Got back to my start point and continued on, RK announced I'd been running for 30mins :) Ok just a little further then, I started to struggle to keep going on the long straight but got to the next exit and finally stopped at the junction.

Stopped RK and found that Id run nonstop for 38:30 and done the magical 5K and a little bit (I have checked the distance ) :) :) :)

I am so proud of today, I really am. Having never run in 40 plus years this is a real achievement.

A few days off, then onto the final week praying for good weather sun/tues/thurs afternoons ;) but think I'll stick to the 30 mins for the first two and try for another 5K on the last - I now know I can do it, or was today just a fluke???

Wow! That's amazing! More than I've done ... I have stuck religiously to the programme and only done the 30 mins, and I cover just under 4k in that time. Week 9 will be a breeze for you then! Where are you? Your Tesco runs sounds like one in my old home town ...

No not amazing - more like stupid, I got carried away with myself, I'm old enough to know better or so I'm told - an extra 10min run - it dont half make the pump thump BUT you should have seen the smile on my face all evening and I've been grinning today as well ;)

That Store is at Pontypridd.

Ah nowhere near my old home town. I guess there are quite a few Tescos with the old railway path nearby! You should be grinning - that shiny badge is very close now ...
