At the starting gate......

Tomorrow is the start of my journey, got shoes,shorts/longs,jackets,socks, and most of all,determination .loads of beautiful countryside around here and the weather is dry but cold so nothing to stop me apart from myself, makes me a bit scared, funny really as I spent most of my life in the armed forces of three different nations and until 10 years ago was very fit, and became a fat slob, lazy too, but now I have had enough, so bring it on..... More to follow if I get back........

Good luck Manfred. Get outside and enjoy the countryside - it'll look a whole lot different in 9 weeks time. The programme works well - just slavishly follow everything Laura says (SWMBO) and you'll be fine... :)

Best of luck Manfred. I found every excuse NOT to run. I had the gear and the enthusiasm but something always got in the way. But once you get out there and take those first steps, then get better each week, you will not regret it. The 'high' you get after every run is so addictive but as con-brio states, go easy and make sure you have your rest days. I'm just finishing week 2 after prolonging both weeks a bit, so have plenty to do myself. Go For It!
