When will my thighs start getting thinner?

I was just wondering if all this pain and effort is going to result in thinner thighs? I've noticed my calf muscles are firming up - which is great - but it's my hips and thighs that need to slim down a little. Will running help me in this quest or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

Thats a bit like asking "how longs a piece of elastic"? No two people are the same I'm sorry to say there is no acurate answer to your question. You will however tone up, which you are already seeing and the longer you keep at it the better the results will be. There is one thing for sure about running, you won't just tone up your legs you will be one fitter, healthier person than before. Good luck.

Hi I'm on week 7 (did run 2 today) also doing ww. I would say my legs are slimming down. Can tell when I'm wearing trousers...definately getting a bit baggy around the legs :-)

I'm hoping it'll help with my orange-peel cellulite. You never know your luck! :D

My legs aren't changing that much right now, but I have lost a lot from my torso (most from waist and bust). It's definitely different, person to person.

My thighs/bum & waist are slimming. Nothing drastic like a dress size but clothes are looser and it's lovely hearing compliments from friends. To be fair I've used this exercise as a reason to eat & drink too much.

Unless you're also watching what you eat, it's unlikely that you'll lose a lot of weight (or inches) doing C25k, I'm afraid. As an example, for me, the calorie burn for most of the programme was estimated at around 250-350 per run, which isn't really a great deal. Now I'm running longer and faster, it's up to around 450-500, but it's very easy to eat more than that as a 'bonus'!

On the bright side, combining running with weightless means that as the fat disappears, there are some lovely muscles waiting to reveal their shapely selves ;) (And I sympathise - most of me has slimmed a *lot* since last summer. My bum & thighs may have done, too, but there's still plenty held in reserve...!)
