Week 5 Run 3 done

Wooohoo, I did it! I was even able to speed up for a strong finished once I heard the magic 'there are 2 minutes left' and kept going for a minute or two because I wasn't ready to stop! Thank you Laura, you were right, why did I ever doubt you?

I think my dog knew too as she didn't stop to have a poop for me to scoop!

Cadno ... fantastic news ... and well trained dog, she probably saw the determination in your eyes and thought better of it!

...and how were the yellow shoes?

They were so pretty but have developed a blister in my arch (where I need the extra support) so will have to monitor that. Woopwoop!

Well done!! In my personal experience, this was easily the harrdest run of the whole programme,so WELL DONE!!

Looking forward to seeing your nice shiny Graduate badge before too long. :-)

Thanks for the supportive comments all. And, I really like the idea of having completed the hardest run of the programme :) I haven't really had a 'bad run' yet so it is all really positive. Looking forward to week 6,7,8, 9 and beyond. In a month I should be running 5ks! :)

Oo, well done! Hope you get the blisters sorted out quickly.

Get those running socks now! Might sound like an extra expense, but then so are plasters and blister ointment, only they can be avoided. Then there's the pain and even the risk of having to put off a run. You wouldn't want that now, would you?

Congrats. See you in week 6.

see message below, am trying to understand what is different about running socks but wrote it as a comment not a reply. Thanks.

May I ask what running socks are exactly? My running may be on hold as I badly twisted my knee, last night, whilst out celebrating Wales's victory in the six nations. I can't walk :(

Basically, socks with extra padding and ribbing for support where needed, plus made of "wicking" (sweat/water removing) material.

See this article and links below it: running.about.com/od/shoesa...
